End Tab
Label Placement Guide

There are many options to placing your alpha labels on standard End-tab files.
Above is the most commonly accepted method.
We recommend this for all alpha systems.
Place the first letter of the last name on the bottom sector. Place the second letter of the last name above it. Above that place the full name label and above that the first letter of the first name. You still should have room for a year or procedure label or both.

End Tab label Placement Guide This filing method would be better with a first letter of first name label above the full name label.

Straight numeric for smaller (under 5000) systems requiring numeric.
This application works with an alphabetic cross reference system.
Works well with applications like insurance records, invoice numbers account numbers etc.

Filing in this manner is for over 12,000 files or would have voids in their numeric sequence. The files are arranged numerically, so that the files having the last two digits are grouped together.
The location is determined by reading the last two digits. 13, 21, 30, 39, 41, 50 and 53. Each filing area is divided into 100 equal sections (00-99). This makes expansion and contraction of files easier. Back shifting is eliminated.
